Clean water tech startup snags $1M in venture funds
One of the companies on my 2011 year-end list, 12 clean water startups to water in 2012, has snagged some additional money to get its clean technology off the ground.
Pasteurization Technology Group has earned a $1 million round of funding from EIC Ventures, which focuses on early-stage investments. The commitment represents a follow-on investment from David Dubé, who is the leader of the EIC fund. Dubé is also a board member of the company.
Pasteurization Technology has created a technology that uses and generates renewable energy as it disinfects wastewater. The system uses the biogas created by wastewater treatment to power its turbines. The hot exhaust air is used to raise the temperature of the wastewater to disinfect it.
The company plans to use the new venture capital to expand the company’s sales, marketing, research and development, and field engineering operations.
